Cut Flowers

We grow cut flowers for our local community. Locally grown flowers are fresh, beautiful and long-lasting. Every bouquet changes with the season.

Why is Buying Local Flowers Important?

No Pesticides: Save the Bees

As with food, pesticide use on flowers can have a negative impact on everyone. Pesticides are devastating to bees and other pollinators. For example, roses can contain as much as 50 times more pesticides than the food we eat. When flowers are checked into the United States they are not checked for pesticide contamination.

No Unwanted Toxins in Your Home

Consequently, consumers may be exposed to these pesticides too. When buying a bouquet produced outside the United states you could be bringing these unwanted toxins into your home. Smelling the flowers can put you in direct contact with all those pesticides.

Quality: Unique, Colorful and Delightfully Scented

Also, consider the amount of energy consumed while shipping flowers around the world via boat, plane and truck. As a result, conventionally grown flowers are bred for long distance travel and loose many of their beautiful qualities, including their smell. Our flowers are unique, colorful and delightfully scented.

Sustainable & Locally Grown

Locally grown cut flowers have less pesticides exposure, use less energy and put money back into your local economy.

Here at Smoky Mountain Farmhouse we are striving to make a difference in the local community by providing sustainably grown, locally sourced, seasonal cut flowers.
